O bairro
The Bairro Alto neighborhood embodies the bohemian soul of Lisbon. Frequented by artists, intellectuals, designers, but also by Lisbon residents who live from generation to generation. The decoration of this neighborhood evolves according to two distinct facets; A neighborhood with day life and a livelier nightlife. During the day, we discovered a colorful and peaceful neighborhood. The animations take place on the banks of the restaurant terraces that emanate the smell of traditional cuisine. On Rua do Norte, fashion boutiques are growing. At night, the streets are filled with passers-by from all over the world, who live happily in Porto's bars or at a concert with live music. Being located on a slightly quieter street in the neighborhood, this charming apartment with a balcony in Lisbon takes advantage of the best of both sides of this romantic neighborhood. On the other hand, there are important cultural sites nearby, such as Testro do Bairro Located at number 63 Luz Soriano, which promoted many Lusitanian artists, such as the famous film director António Pires. Also known as Palácio dos Carvalhos, it was built at the beginning of the 17th century by the father of Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, better known under the title of Marquês de Pombal. On the same street, you will be impressed by the baroque architecture of the imposing Convent of Nossa Senhora da Conceição dos Cardais, founded in 1681 as a Female Monastery of Discalced Carmelites.
