Location

The Tram 28 and different bus stops which are within a walking distance, will provide you with easy access to the entire city. Same with the Rato Metro station for the yellow line.

The neighbourhood

The apartment is located in Príncipe Real, right next to Bairro Alto, one of the most well-known neighborhoods in Lisbon with typical Portuguese architecture. The unique alternative stores, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and art galleries combine perfectly with the diversity of the local residents. The best way to describe Principe Real and Bairro Alto is by mentioning the happy environment, the parties, and the many different bars, not forgetting the locals and visitors filling up the traffic-free streets. It is a residential neighborhood, with colorful mansions, gardens, and a couple of the city's most tranquil squares. Some attractions: - BASÍLICA DA ESTRELA: This old cathedral is one of Lisbon's biggest and most well-known churches. Right in front of it, you will find both the historical Tram 28 and one of Lisbon's most emblematic gardens - Jardim da Estrela; - PALÁCIO DE SÃO BENTO: Formally known as the official residence of the Portuguese Prime Minister, it sits right next to the Portuguese Parliament - Assembleia da Républica. - IGREJA DE SÃO ROQUE: Unique union of 17th and 18th-centuries decorations (Mannerist, Baroque, and late Baroque). - MIRADOURO S. PEDRO DE ALCÂNTARA: Mainly known for its beautiful garden, with the perfect view of the Baixa and the river. To get here you can take the Elevador da Gloria (The Glory's Elevator) or go up the Calçada da Gloria. - JARDIM DO PRINCIPE REAL: Created in the middle 19th century. The garden has many esplanades and walkways. On special occasions, you can also find craft and food fairs. - MIRADOURO DE SANTA CATARINA: Also known as the Adamastor (the Roman-Greek mythology's giant mentioned in the Luis de Camões' Os Lusiadas, the book that described the Portuguese voyages of discovery during the 15th and 16th centuries), with the perfect view over the river and south Lisbon.

Getting around

All the primary modes of transportation, namely the trains, taxis, metros, trams, and buses are all at walking distance from the apartment, thus you will have easy access to the entire city.
