Location
Guests that arrive by plane have several options of transportation. There are always taxis in the airport. Or if you wish to use public transport you can take the metro from the airport. Take the E line, get out at Trindade station and then change to line D and get out in São Bento. End trip ( +/ - 30 minutes) at S. Bento station in the city center. Guests are at 5min walk from the apartment.
The neighbourhood
The apartment is located on one of the liveliest streets of Porto, right in the heart of the city. The neighborhood is also very safe and is closely located to every iconic landmark of the city. Baixa is a neighborhood situated right above the Ribeira. There are plenty of interesting sites to visit around the area, such as Mercado do Bolhão (the last traditional market of Porto), São Bento train station and Lello bookshop can be found here. It is the best neighborhood in Porto for: solo travelers; young couples; or groups of friends traveling together. Places worth visiting nearby: - Aliados Avenue - Tower and Church of Clérigos - Lello bookstore - São Bento train station – typical Portuguese tiles can be found on the inside - S. Francisco Church - Dom Luís I Bridge – an iconic symbol of Porto - Galerias de Paris - a popular nightspot, often frequented by locals. - Majestic Café - The most historical café in Porto - Rua de Santa Catarina - a popular shopping spot filled with international stores, amazing restaurants, and cafés. - Guindais Funicular - Port Wine cellars - situated in Gaia, on the other side of the bridge!
Getting around
Many of the main attractions of Porto are located at an agreeable walking distance. The beautiful and magnificent "São Bento" train station is located 3 minutes away, and it takes about 20 minutes to reach the airport.
