The neighbourhood
The property is situated right outside Portimão, the biggest town in the western Algarve. Despite its considerable size, the area has a low-key and relaxed ambiance, quite unlike the rest of the surrounding beach towns. The historic center has a distinctively Portuguese ambiance, with plazas filled with open-air cafes, connected by pedestrianized shopping streets and a series of churches scattered around. This region can easily be explored in half a day.
