The neighbourhood
Portugal is well known for its beaches, and the ones in Porto are no exception! The Senhora da Luz Street is in the heart of Foz do Douro neighborhood which is the most exclusive quarter of Porto, where the hip locals live. With a beach and Douro river front, it's perfect for a stroll with the family, a morning dive in the sea or a tan day at the beach - all within walking distance access to the best restaurants and beach bars, bakeries, bio supermarkets, cafes, Serralves Contemporary Museum, gardens and the beach itself. The Classic Tram stop heading to a sightseeing trip downtown is walking distance through one of the most iconic gardens of Porto: Passeio Alegre (150 meters away).
Getting around
To visit the historical center, classified as World’s Heritage by UNESCO, the most adventurous and beautiful way is to go through the 6km along the river by foot or bike. If you prefer, you can take the picturesque electric, the tourist bus, or even take the common bus nº 500 and travel with the local people!
