Location
Guests that arrive by plane can take the metro from the airport; Take the E line, get off at Trindade station and then change to line D. End trip ( +/ - 30 minutes) at S. Bento station in the city center. The apartment is a 3 minute walk away from the station.
The neighbourhood
Baixa is a neighborhood situated right above the Ribeira. There are plenty of interesting sites to visit around the area, such as Mercado do Bolhão (the last traditional market of Porto), São Bento train station and Lello bookshop can be found here. It is the best neighborhood in Porto for: solo travellers; young couples; or groups of friends travelling together. Places worth visiting nearby: *Aliados Avenue *Tower and Church of Clérigos *Lello bookstore *São Bento train station – typical portuguese tiles can be found on the inside *S. Francisco Church *Dom Luís I Bridge – an iconic symbol of Porto *Galerias de Paris - a popular night spot, often frequented by locals. *Majestic Café - The most historical café in Porto *Rua de Santa Catarina - a popular shopping spot filled with international stores, amazing restaurants and cafés. *Guindais Funicular *Port Wine cellars - situated in Gaia, on the other side of the bridge!
Getting around
Most of the main attractions of Porto are located at an agreeable walking distance. The beautiful and magnificent "São Bento" train station is located just 3 minutes away from the apartment. From here, you can easily get to the "Campanha" train station where trains from Lisbon and other other major cities arrive. The airport is also about 30 minutes away by metro.
