Altura is a tranquil seaside village located in the municipality of Castro Marim, in the eastern Algarve, near the Spanish border. Known for its relaxed atmosphere and long, golden sandy beach, Praia da Alagoa, Altura is a popular destination for families and those seeking a quieter, more laid-back alternative to the busier resort towns of the Algarve. The beach is wide and gently sloping, with warm, calm waters — ideal for swimming and sunbathing. A wooden boardwalk runs along the dunes, perfect for leisurely walks and offering easy access to the beach while preserving the natural environment.
